The Innovation Unit Design Academy (IUDA) is a unique part-time programme that aims to build capacity for professionals working in social innovation and public service transformation. As the coordinator of the program, I have been responsible for ensuring each individual in our blended cohort of early career and experienced innovators are receiving the learning opportunities they need, including oversight for equality, diversity, and inclusion. The three people I am coaching through their final projects benefit from my structured, yet flexible approach to providing support that aligns with their individual learning goals.
As a service designer I am always looking out for fun and novel ways to approach learning and growth. With the help of a colleague I designed and hosted a 12-hour service design jam which blended our IUDA cohort with the Royal College of Art's service design masters cohort.
Mind acted as client for the day, setting the brief and judging the final designs. As well as networking and expanding our IUDA community of practice to include other learners, our studente benefitted from seeing the design and facilitation strategies of hosting a full day design event.
Presenting at Design4Health 2018, Sheffield Hallam University
Knowledge has to be shared to be put to good use, spark ideas, and create change. I love discussing ideas with leaders, managers, clients and stakeholders.
I'm a confident public speaker with skills developed over the course of my career. Aside from facilitating workshops and presenting at academic conferences, I am always on the look out for new audiences to share knowledge with.
